Veli Rat is the northernmost place of the island and is located in the Čuna bay. It dates from Roman times and the most distinguished sacred building is the parish church of St. Anthony.
There is also a very modern marina for boats in the place. Southeast of Veli Rat is the sandy beach Sakarun, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic. The pearl of Veli Rat is the lighthouse Punta Bjanca.
